New Study Associates Heart Attacks & Kidney Failure with Atrial Fibrillation
Patients, healthcare providers and payers now have more to be concerned with regarding atrial fibrillation (Afib) diagnoses. Increased risk of heart attack and kidney failure are now being associated to having an irregular heartbeat, according to an analysis of 104 studies spanning nine million people by the University of Oxford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Johns Hopkins study used AFibAlert to monitor patients post-procedure
The Johns Hopkins Hospital Electrophysiology Division conducted a clinical study using MRI to Evaluate Radiofrequency, Cryothermal, and Laser Left Atrial Lesion Formation in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. Patients were monitored for recurrence of atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation. The researchers used the AfibAlert monitoring due to its high accuracy and ease of use for patients.
